Gatorade Free Flow Tour

About The Gatorade Free Flow Tour

The Gatorade Free Flow Tour, the official amateur series of the Winter Dew Tour, holds competitions at resorts across the country throughout the month of January, providing a platform for amateur freeskiers and snowboarders to showcase their skills. The inaugural winter leg of the Tour consists of 10 regional events across the U.S., featuring freeskiing (superpipe and slopestyle) and snowboarding (superpipe and slopestyle). The winners of each regional event earn a trip to compete in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals held in conjunction with the Dew Tour's Toyota Championship, Feb. 5-7, 2010, and the overall champions in the four disciplines automatically earn a spot to compete against the pros in the first stop of the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour. Gatorade's partnership with the Free Flow Tour began in 2009 and its presence and commitment to uplift amateur freeskiers and snowboarders and provide an extended platform to grow action sports enabled the creation of the winter season of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour. Tara Dakides Re-Joins the Sessions Family

Scotts Valley, CA, October 22, 2009- After 10 years of building her talent and winning the reputation of the “Best Female Snowboarder in the World”, Tara Dakides signs back up with Sessions joining the U.S. Pro Team. Sessions was Tara’s first outerwear sponsor when she first began snowboarding and winning awards and today we are pleased to announce that she is back with us.
“Life really does come full circle… Sessions was my first sponsor back in the day (19 years old) when a girl getting sponsored was few and far between. It’s a trip to come back after all these years with a new outlook and more experience. I’m excited to have more creative freedom with my outerwear designs and to be able to work with such great people who love to ride. Sessions is one of the few core snow/skate companies alive. I say core in the sense that they have kept it real and true with there riders and the people who work hard to build the brand. It’s nice to feel a part of helping build something and appreciated in the process. It’s good to be home!” –Tara Dakides
Tara has had many accomplishments in her career to date from Transworld and Snowboarder including winning such titles as Best Freestyle Rider, Best Overall Female Rider, Female Snowboarder of the Year, Best Rail Rider, Gold Metal Winner for the X-Games in Slopestyle and Big Air, 1st Place Vans Triple Crown, and the list goes on and on…
“I’m stoked to see Tara back with the Sessions family. She is so passionate about what Sessions stands for- snowboarding, skating, music and friendship.” –Joel Gomez
“Snowboarding has a lot to thank Tara for. In a time when women’s snowboarding was not as popular as it is today, Tara was breaking boundaries. She was not only progressing woman’s snowboarding but snowboarding as a whole. She paved the way for the Gretchen’s and Torah’s of today and opened up everyone’s eyes to what was possible. Cheers to you Tara and welcome back!”
- Brett Butcher, Sessions Team Manager
Everyone at Sessions would like to thank Tara for everything she has done for snowboarding and we are very excited to have her back in the Sessions family!
Look out for Tara’s Signature Jackets and Pants with Sessions for Snow 2011.

Frontline Railjam Downtown Stockholm 10/10 - 2009

Frontline Railjam just finished this weekend in Stockholm!
Got there on Friday, checked in to the hotel and went out with the other riders on a dinner and some partying.
The day after we went up pretty early to get some breakfast and watch some snowboard video to get some more stoked!
After we went down to town with our snowboard gear... people were looking pretty strange at us when we came in the middle of town with snowboards .....
The contest was with 2 heats... around 13-4 riders each heat and 6 from each heat to finals.
I were in the second heat and made it to the finals.
The finals format is really cool.
Best trick and Best over all and 50 euros in your hand when a rider made some outstanding cool trick..

Halldor helgason won Best overall and Eiki got the best trick with a cab 360 sw nosepress 180 out...

These brothers are proberly the best railers in the world without any douts....

Myself i was pretty stoked, first contest of the years and i made a few 100 euros!

Heres a Link for a video for the Finals and some Pictures!

Tara Dakides participates in the 4th annual Powder Puff Race for the Cure

Tara took part in the 4th annual Powder Puff Race for the Cure this past weekend in Barstow California. Benefits and donations acquired from this years event will support Cedar Sinai Woman's Breast Cancer Research Center. Please check out www.powderpuffrace.org for more information!

Tara's ride

Middle of nowhere Idaho

This past weekend I rallied up to a rail comp at Barrie's Ski and Sports in Pocatello. It was a carpet only event so I judged and hung out with the local kids. They put their carpet mat burns to the test and pushed pretty hard on a 100% artificial surface. Barrie's built a cool down box for the feature and later switched up the take off ramp to a more urban set up which was the first I've seen done. Modular, artificial and hyped heavy. They even had BBQ vendors there. A+ for a fall kick off parking lot extravaganza. Back to the report.

Midway up from SLC, in a place I swore not to tell, we rolled up to a field of full pipes. Naturally, skates in the back, we pulled off and headed down some farmer roads to find the pipes. We skated for a bit, it was ruffer (as always) than it usually looks and some gravel in the bottom didn't help. The weather and backdrop was all time for this lil excursion so we maxed out the trip with some skating. We later needed some hydrogen peroxide to clean up some flesh and scored a couple sick hick t's for 5 bucks.

Tim Brauch Memorial Skateboard Contest

September 27, 2009

This weekend Sessions kicked off the 11th Annual Tim Brauch Memorial Skateboarding contest at the Scotts Valley skatepark in Scotts Valley, CA. This year was one of the biggest years yet with over 100 skaters from the grom to grandmasters level, and boy were they all destroying the courses. On Saturday the groms and ams got down on the street contest, competing for a ton of great prizes from our sponsors. The bangers were out that day in the amateur division showing off some sick tech skillz, and killing all aspects of the street course. Are 360 flips the new kickflip?
I don’t know why but it seems that everyone has those dialed these days, and so steezy.
On Sunday day two of the contest, we switched up the park to the Lake Cunningham Regional Skatepark in San Jose, CA and prepared for the heavy hitters in the girls, Local, Pro, and Grandmasters divisions competing in the sixteen foot skull bowl to take home the 1st place prize purse. Hosoi, and Caballero ended up in the finals battling it out for first place, but Hosoi’s continuous 6-foot blasts out of the skull bowl couldn’t match Cab’s flow in this round. Cab stole the show with his unreal flow and buttery slides leaving the judges with no other choice but to put him on top of the podium. The turn out was great this year and we appreciate everyone that came out to support Tim Brauch! Also, thanks to all of our sponsors and everyone who made this event possible!
