Happy Halloween

The Pirate movie Premier went off in Denver this Wednesday night and I was lucky enough to come in for the event. Started of with my friend James and I getting a pre-party drink and some food at the well known Vesta Dipping Grill located right down Blake street from the premier venue, Beta Lounge. We arrived a little early but Beta was already packed with a mix of party goers and Halloweeners... Where's Waldo? Er... SantaMe and Rian (Salomon, Bonfire party maker)
James and I enjoying some cold ones.
Even some local heros showed there love for the pirates. Chad, Drago and RT
RT, Josh and non other than Superman.

Both movies went off and after Josh Sherman and I gave out a few boards for worst "tattoo" we continued the party deep into the night. I ended the night down the street at La Boheme with James and his new girl friend and woke up the next morning without my phone... Lost forever. Thanks Denver, Till we meet again.

James and the love of his life... This week anyway.

Boreal's JPI 4

Oct 30th 2008

Boreal's 4th annual JPI went off with a bang high atop the Sierra Mountains on Saturday, October 25th. The JPI is a great event because it really kicks off the snow season in Lake Tahoe and this year was bigger and better. With cold temperatures the past few weeks, Boreal was able to blow a ton of snow. This enabled them to open a public jib area witch included a stair feature, down boxes, C boxes, wall ride and a 20 foot jump. It was a complete zoo, with as many as 500 kids hiking a patch of snow and trying to avoid collisions!
Sessions had a great presence at the JPI with riders Nate Farrel, Taylor Carlton, Zak Hale, Brett Butcher and Kyle Miller all in attendance hanging out at the Sessions tents singing autographs, throwing out Sessions tees, hats and stickers. The main event went down on the custom-built Snowboard-mag staircase feature when the sun set. Zak and Kyle competed and had a strong showing, both just missing the podium. With over 3000 spectators, JPI 4 was a huge success and an event you should mark on you calenders to attend next fall!!!

Check out Nate Farrells interview on SNOWREV.COM

Pre Jibassic fun!!!!

So I made my way down to Reno the day before the Boreal comp to pick up Zak Hale from the airport. Kyle Miller joined me on the drive and after we picked up Zak we met up with Donny and Nate Farrel for lunch at PF Changs. After stuffing ourselves with Chinese Cuisine we stopped by a few shops and then headed to the Grand Sierra to hit some golf balls around. This isn't your typical driving range, you drive out over a lake and if you hit a hole in one on one of the many islands you win a prize. Sink it in at 200 yards and you get a free trip to Hawaii. Well being the amazing golfers that we are, no one was able to put it in. The night finished off at Fritz for the Technine movie premier and a public rail jam. Fritz's rail jams are the best... a few blocks from UNR, a bunch of college kids hungry for free stuff and you get the picture! Good times.

Technicolour, Stack Footy with the Hunks of Metal!!!!

Oct 22nd 2008

Its premier season and every Wednesday at the 5050 brewery in Truckee they showcase a new movie. On the menu for this week was Autumn Lines "Technicolour and Think Thanks "Stack Footy." This week was extra special though because Nick Visconti was able to get the Hunks of Metal to come by and play. With the likes of Bob Klein, Shawn Farmer and Terry Kidwell rocking out, you know it was ragging!
A huge thanks to Sessions, Pow, Bataleon, Boreal, and Hoven for all the free goodies, to 5050 for letting us party and to the Hunks of Metal for putting on an amazing show! If you weren't there, you missed out!!!

Icer Air 08

The Icer Air rolled into San Francisco on October 18th. In recent years it has bean all about your standard scaffolding setup with a strait jump. This year Icer incorporated a catapult, ie. Extreme Machine, setup for riders to get speed. They would hold onto a rope and get pulled into a hip at 30 to 40 miles per hour. Most of the riders had never used a device like this before, so it took some time to figure it out. After all the kinks where worked out and the riders got comfortable on the setup, some good snowboarding went down. Sessions riders, Tim Humphreys and Taylor Carlton made the trek to San Francisco and both rode well.

Sessions is proud to announce Andreas Gidlund to the U.S. Snow Team

Scotts Valley, CA, October 10, 2008 - Sessions is pleased to introduce Swedish powerhouse Andreas Gidlund to the team! At 20, Andreas is emerging as one of the best jumpers in the game. Last winter he took first in a TTR 5 star event and filmed a part in Factor Films "Note"

"Imagine riding all day easting nothing but candy, than hit the bar until early morning, catch an hour of sleep before getting up in the early AM and because its the only chance you're going to get at hitting this scary 90 foot kicker. Not my idea of a geed time but this spring i saw Andy do all that, stomp a huge 10 and ride away with that grin on his face, just to do the same thing all over again"
Daniel Blom, SNOWBOARDER Magazine Senior Photographer

Keep an eye out for Andreas this coming winter as he represents Sessions throughout Europe and in the U.S. Get ready because we're Andreas is going to go big this winter!
