Boreal's 4th annual JPI went off with a bang high atop the Sierra Mountains on Saturday, October 25th. The JPI is a great event because it really kicks off the snow season in Lake Tahoe and this year was bigger and better. With cold temperatures the past few weeks, Boreal was able to blow a ton of snow. This enabled them to open a public jib area witch included a stair feature, down boxes, C boxes, wall ride and a 20 foot jump. It was a complete zoo, with as many as 500 kids hiking a patch of snow and trying to avoid collisions!
Sessions had a great presence at the JPI with riders Nate Farrel, Taylor Carlton, Zak Hale, Brett Butcher and Kyle Miller all in attendance hanging out at the Sessions tents singing autographs, throwing out Sessions tees, hats and stickers. The main event went down on the custom-built Snowboard-mag staircase feature when the sun set. Zak and Kyle competed and had a strong showing, both just missing the podium. With over 3000 spectators, JPI 4 was a huge success and an event you should mark on you calenders to attend next fall!!!
